Tapemark Employee Featured in Mental Health Works
Vallie Collins was aboard US Airways flight 1549 when it went down in the Hudson River, changing her life forever. Helping this dynamic sales representative deal with her trauma and providing support to her during a leave of absence was crucial to her well-being. Providing accommodations to ensure a return to work at her own pace and with reduced hours, Tapemark retained a valued employee who maintains a healthy perspective towards life. Tapemark Acquires Iontophoretic Technology
Tapemark has executed an agreement to acquire the iontoPatch® business from Travanti Pharma, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Teikoku Pharma USA, Inc. Following the closing on August 31, 2011, the iontoPatch® product line along with a suite of iontophoretic technology for use in medical devices and cosmetics will be marketed under the Travanti Medical name. Tapemark Pro-Am winnerFreeman Wins 2011 Tapemark Charity Pro-Am, First Tournament as a Professional
Tapemark congratulates the 2011 Tapemark Charity Pro-Am winner, Ben Freeman from Oxbow Country Club in North Dakota, who was playing in his first tourney as a pro. Scoring consecutive eagles on the last two holes in the first day of play, his rounds of 71-66-65 included three eagles and 13 birdies. This was the 40th annual Tapemark Charity Pro-Am golf tournament, which benefits people with developmental and learning disabilities.

Since 1972, the Tapemark Charity Pro-Am has raised more than $6.5 million for people suffering with developmental and learning disabilities. The tournament, held at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul, Minnesota, includes the upcoming Tapemark Charity Women’s Golf Event on September 19, 2011.

Tapemark to Manufacture Schedule III - V Controlled Substances
Tapemark is now DEA registered as a Schedule III – V Manufacturer of Controlled Substances. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a component of the US Department of Justice, granted the registration October 4, 2010, following a successful inspection. It is effective immediately. In August 2010, Tapemark received certification to produce medical devices for Japan. Additionally, in September 2010, Tapemark received certification to the updated ISO standard, ISO 9001:2008.

Helminen Wins 2010 Tapemark Pro-AmHelminen wins 2010 Tapemark Pro-Am
Ryan Helminen shot a final-round 70 Sunday to complete a one-stroke victory at the 39th Annual Tapemark Charity Pro-Am, narrowly beating David Morgan (Rochester), Joe O’Brien (Minneapolis) and Mario Tiziani (Windsong Farm). Helminen, a club pro at SentryWorld Golf Course in Stevens Point, Wis., finished at 9-under-par 204. Bent Creek professional Eric Rolland aced the 152 yard par three thirteenth hole with a nine iron during Saturday’s second round of the tournament, winning a $1000 check for his hole-in-one.

Tapemark Retains MNSHARP Certification
In March 2010, Tapemark once again was recognized as a Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MNSHARP) worksite. MNSHARP is a Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MNOSHA) program that recognizes companies where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with all applicable OSHA standards, and results in immediate and long-term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses. Tapemark first met MNSHARP criteria in 2008 and is pleased to continue its safety and health commitment.

Tapemark is in Compliance with European GMPs
In November 2009, Tapemark was audited by the European Medical Products Agency (MPA) which verified compliance with European GMPs, complementing Tapemark's first EU-GMP compliance inspection in 2006.

Jeff Sorenson Wins Tapemark Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament
Jeff Sorenson wins Tapemark Charity Pro-Am Golf TournamentColumbia Golf Course professional Jeff Sorenson birdied his last hole to win the 2009 Tapemark Charity Pro-Am, with a one-stroke victory over Adam Wynia of Prairie Green, South Dakota. Both had traded the lead several times on the last day of the tournament, and came into their final two holes tied at 15-under par. Sorenson carded 17 birdies and three eagles over the three days, but his most important birdie may have been his prettiest. On his final hole of the day, Sorenson's approach shot on the par-four ninth green hit the green less than a foot right of the hole, hopped straight left over the cup, and settled just left of the hole leaving him an easy birdie putt to secure the lead and his eventual title. A popular Pro-Am participant, Sorenson had already won two of Minnesota's four professional majors before claiming the Tapemark Pro-Am. He won the crown at the Minnesota Golf Champions tournament in 2006 and finished first in the State PGA Championship later that same year, then won his second State PGA title last year. With this win, he now has three of the four majors in Minnesota.

Tapemark Founder Receives Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Robert Klas, Sr., founder, chairman and former CEO of Tapemark, was awarded the first Dakota-Scott Counties Workforce Investment Board Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the board’s annual Legislative and Awards breakfast December 12, 2008. Klas was recognized for “Outstanding Entrepreneurial Innovation and Leadership.” LaDonna Boyd, a member of the board and Economic Development Director for Dakota Electric, nominated Klas citing his entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated by his leadership of The Tapemark Company and its outstanding growth and development over the years. Boyd has led the Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board’s development of entrepreneurial resources and programs for individuals. “We were honored to recognize Klas with this inaugural award,” she noted. “All of the board’s future awards in this category will be now known as the ‘Bob Klas Sr. Entrepreneur Award’.”

John Carlson wins Tapemark Pro-Am tournamentJohn Carlson Wins Second-Straight Tapemark Pro-Am Tournament
Wayzata Country Club professional John Carlson shot 68-68-64-200 (-13) to win the 37th annual Tapemark Charity Pro-Am golf tournament, earning his second-straight Tapemark Pro-Am title. The tournament benefits people with developmental and learning disabilities and their families, and will surpass the $6 million mark this year. The Tapemark Pro-Am, held at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul, Minnesota, includes the upcoming women’s event on September 15, 2008.

Robert Klas, Sr. and his wife Sandy Klas to receive honorary doctorate degrees from Hamline UniversityTapemark’s founder, chairman, and former CEO, Robert Klas, Sr., and his wife Sandy Klas were awarded honorary doctor of humane letters degrees by Hamline University on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Tapemark Goes to SchoolStudents learn about engineering during National Engineering Week
On February 19, 2008, several of Tapemark's engineers participated in National Engineering Week with Mahtomedi High School students. The engineers met with students in four classes, who participated in a "coffee-making" kaizen event and learned about the Seven Forms of Waste. Tapemark engineers talked about what interested each of them in an engineering career, discussed how engineering principles are applied in business, and provided samples of some Tapemark products. National Engineering Week (NEW) is a national celebration of engineering excellence dedicated to reaching out to young people to let them know that engineering is an exciting, fun and rewarding career choice. Tapemark and Anoka Ramsey Community College Receive Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Program Grant
Tapemark and Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC) are the joint recipients of a Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Program grant award of $358,051. This grant will assist Tapemark to complete its transition from its roots as a printing company to today providing contract manufacturing for the pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer products industries.

Over the next three years, ARCC will help Tapemark and its workforce transform the company through learning and developing a culture of continuous teaching and learning. Specific program areas address technical knowledge and skills, leadership skills, and manufacturing principles and tools to achieve business growth.

Tapemark is Recognized for Charitable Contributions
Tapemark was recently recognized by Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless as the recipient of their 2007 Outstanding New Campaign award. In addition to the generous employee pledge contributions, which were matched by the company, employees donated school supplies to help homeless students in the St. Paul area. Numerous back packs, notebooks, pencils, pens, glue, crayons, rulers, calculators, etc support K-12 students through the St. Paul Public School Homeless Program. The award was presented at a banquet on October 25, 2007.

John Carlson Wins the 36th Tapemark Charity Pro-Am at Southview Country Club
The 2007 Tapemark Charity Pro-Am golf winner is John Carlson, a former University of Wisconsin golfer and current resident of Blaine, Minnesota. With rounds of 65, 66, and 67, his accumulated 15-under-par score matched the tournament record to give him an eight-shot victory over six-time champ Don Berry. His proud father, Doug, was at his side as his caddie throughout the tournament.

The tournament, hosted at Southview Country Club, raises funds to support organizations serving children and adults with developmental and learning disabilities and their families.
